After a good walk and coffee I hope you make some progress. I'd be looking at bios versions and confict and I would definitely first reseat the card and secondly try that 16x gen 2 slot 4, regardless of Avid guidelines. If I was you I'd definitely by now be suspecting my MB. I only recommended them because they are tested and working by Avid, and although this is only true perhaps for the DNxIO it is possible to imagine that wider functionality will have been tailored within Avid by both companies better than other drivers. The BM and Avid versions are, as far as I know, identical except Avid include the Fusion connect plug in for the DNxIO as part of the installation. I didn't get crashes but Avid would just not play the timeline. Except I know 10.5.4 and 10.8.3 work for me fully, nothing in between did and earlier were very flaky, though I see at least one user here happily working on current MC versions with 10.4.2. I feel your predicament as I'm at loss to know what to suggest further too. Thanks again for taking the time & effort to contribute. Strong coffee & maybe a long dog walk next. May have already tried it yesterday but I had a case of tedium induced brain failure.Įnough typing for now. (Profile system specs also updated.) Will try 10.5.3 next. Yesterday tried both DNxIO & BMD versions of 10.5.4 & 10.8.3. BMD support agreed to test card on their bench even though we concurred hardware failure unlikely since it worked with some programs & drivers. Don’t recall trying to install card in other possible slot. Last driver test in notes was 10.5.2 but I recollect trying at least one of each 10.6.n, 10.7.n & 10.8.n. I didn’t necessarily test with any other software after watching MC crash. Every one caused MC and PT to crash back to desktop from splashscreens. I tried newer drivers as they were released. Got MC working by rolling back to Desktop Video 10.3. It did work with Media Express for all valid inputs I could furnish IIRC. Avid launched but never recognized card-no cog icon or media composer decklink banner. Decklink card installed in slot as per Avid config guideline. Drives undamaged but windows stopped acknowledging their existence. Replaced it with a Startech which lasted 2 years. Only other hardware issues have been the 3 in 2 hard drive caddies failing. HP no longer stocked gen1 boards so they installed gen2. Here’s a bit of history just to be thorough. Thanks for helping reset my frustration meter. Your constructive contributions much appreciated, Audio source can select between Blackmagic & 1394. In log mode, video source can select between none & 1394. Capture tool, in capture mode video source is grey/blank. MC recognizes Decklink inasmuch as cog icon appears in usual places. MC launches.Īnd now for something completely different: now no video with driver 10.3. MC crashed from splashscreen back to desktop as par for course. Oddly video did pass through decklink to external monitor. All other driver versions caused MC (currently 8.5.2) to crash from splashscreen back to desktop. Blackmagic Decklink Studio 4K card installed in Win7 PC only worked with Desktop Video 10.3.
